Let’s Make Madison Thrive

We are Madison's Central Business Improvement District.

Founded in 1999, Madison's Central Business Improvement District (BID) is dedicated to supporting the economic vitality, safety, and vibrancy of downtown Madison. We serve the greater State Street, Capitol Square, and First Settlement District, working collaboratively with property owners, businesses, and city stakeholders to make downtown the best place to shop, dine, work, and explore. As a special assessment district, we provide important services, including marketing, public programming, business support, and local advocacy to ensure a thriving downtown.

About BID

Connect, collaborate and create.

Madison's Central BID is mission driven to connect with visitors and boost engagement downtown. We produce dozens of community events each year, using placemaking and space activation to drive culture and support public safety. And importantly, we represent and resource our downtown small businesses.

About BID

Downtown Madison is for everyone.

We are a thriving entrepreneurial community that welcomes, innovates and thrives - where people invest in one another! Let's shape a downtown that is dynamic, welcoming and full of opportunities for all.
